What a funny and and heartwarming movie. It features great actresses Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver and Kristen Bell. I wish Betty White had a bigger role but the part she did play was hilarious, as you would expect.

I'll watch anything with Jason Bateman in it but I especially loved this movie. Jesse Plemons as the dead-eyed neighbor Gary was the best!

I thought the movie was okay. It had some nice cinematography but was so drawn out that it became tiresome.

I enjoyed the first 30 or so minutes of the movie but then it went off the rails....for me anyway. I thought the plot got rather convoluted and hard to follow. I found myself fast-forwarding through most of the movie.

I enjoyed this book which is a collection of letters written to and by scholars, authors, scientists, and others and adds a personal feel to historical events and those involved. I think most people would find something to interest them in this book. There were many that I especially liked, including letters from Virginia Woolf to Leonard Woolf, from Mark Twain to the seller of a cure-all elixir, from Rebecca West to H. G. Wells, and from John Steinbeck to his son, Thom Steinbeck.I enjoyed this book which is a collection of letters written to and by scholars, authors, scientists, and others and adds a personal feel to historical events and those involved. I found this novel to be entertaining and fairly original although it definitely had some similarities to Pet Sematary and The Lottery. The author mixes folk lore with modern technology to create a creepy if not terrifying story. The ending was kind of all over the place and that was disappointing but overall, it was an above average book in my opinion.I found this novel to be entertaining and fairly original although it definitely had some similarities to Pet Sematary and The Lottery. While reading Dan Simmons’ The Terror, I became interested in the true story that it was based upon and that led me to check out this title. It’s an excellent and thorough account of the expedition and the search efforts to locate the lost ships. There are lots of illustrations and even daguerreotype images of the officers that really drive home the fact that these were real people and not just a story. It was also interesting to see what Dan Simmons did with the real facts when creating his novel. While reading Dan Simmons’ The Terror, I became interested in the true story that it was based upon and that led me to check out this title. Of course I’m going to give my favorite author’s latest book five stars. His diaries give fans an insight into his day-to-day life, his take on things that interest him, his observations of the weirdness that sometimes is humanity, jokes that fans have shared with him and so much more. It’s full of the witty, often snarky humor that I’ve come to know and love from David Sedaris but there’s also intimate, poignant moments that I found to be very touching. I think any David Sedaris fan will enjoy this title immensely.Of course I’m going to give my favorite author’s latest book five stars. I love fiction that is based on true events. Here, Dan Simmons weaves the true story of the doomed 1845 Franklin Expedition to find a Northwest Passage through the Arctic with a monstrous unseen predator that is stalking the crew. The result is a totally engaging story that is hard to put down. In my opinion, Dan Simmons is one of the best writers in the horror genre.I love fiction that is based on true events. I was excited to learn that there was a new Rick Bragg book but nervous when I found out that it was about a dog because….Marley & Me....never want to cry that hard while reading a book again. When a coworker assured me that the dog doesn’t die, I was all in. Bragg uses his wry sense of humor to share many funny stories about the half-blind, half-starved, totally crazy stray that he claimed as his own. It wouldn’t be a Rick Bragg book however without poignant stories about his family. His love for his family and his sometimes bad boy shines through. It’s clear that Speck helped Bragg and his family through some hard days. This was a great book and I highly recommend it.I was excited to learn that there was a new Rick Bragg book but nervous when I found out that it was about a dog because….Marley & Me....never want to cry that hard while reading a book again. Stephen Graham Jones is such an incredible writer. Most of his books fall into the horror genre but they are so much more. They are scary, yes but also funny and tender. I cried several times while reading this book and the last scene wrecked me. Once you get to know the heroine in this title, Jade, you will understand. I love a good humorous essay. I found myself laughing out loud several times while reading these. Having said that, I don't know if this title is for everyone. Some stories are a little coarse. I also found the author to be somewhat self-congratulatory about her own humor. Overall though, I did enjoy the book.I love a good humorous essay. I loved this book! The author has a chatty, humorous style of writing that I really enjoyed. While being light-hearted, it’s still very touching and drives home the importance of remembering that our long gone ancestors were real people with real lives…not just names and dates. The title is possibly a little misleading as the book is much more about the author’s hunt for her family history than the actual sisters themselves.I loved this book! Is it wrong to say that this true crime novel made me really happy? Let me explain. Ann Rule was my favorite true crime writer. When she passed away in 2015, it was a dark day for true crime fans…this one any way. I was aware that her daughter Leslie Rule was an author but up until now, she has mainly written paranormal type books which aren’t my cup of tea. So, when I saw that she had written a true crime novel, I was really excited but also a little hesitant…would she be as good as her mother? I feel like she has done her mother proud with this novel. This is a fascinating case and Leslie Rule did a great job covering it. I saw this case covered on a Dateline episode. It was interesting there but the book went into much more depth. This is one of those books that keeps you up past your bedtime to read. I loved it and hope it is the first of many for Leslie Rule!Is it wrong to say that this true crime novel made me really happy?
