SUMMARY: "The problem of water availability in the Valley of Mexico basin is a real ticking time bomb for the most populous city on the planet." Can we imagine that a drought could blow up the Mexican federal pact because a state, for survival, refused to give water to its neighbor, or to the very capital of the Republic? Francisco Mart̕n Moreno gives the alarm regarding the possibility of a new drought, like those that have plagued the Valley of Mexico since pre-Hispanic times. With his vigorous prose and his tireless imagination, he reveals to us that the drought was the great detonator of the War of Independence, as it was also of the Revolution of 1910. If it were accepted that it determined our past, we would take measures to avoid further damage and we would anticipate the future to prevent catastrophe from once again seizing the destiny of the nation. This novel, full of political intrigue, eroticism and ecological anticipation, teaches us what the Mexico of tomorrow can be if a timely and firm change of direction is not given.
