This book has a little action at the beginning of the book and then very little action throughout. Grisham takes the time to develop his characters however the characters themselves are mostly boring, unengaging, and unlikeable. Ironically, the book's main character is a writer struggling with writer's block. More than halfway into the book the writer and a book seller are discussing the irrationality of continuing to read a book that hasn't grabbed them in the first 50-100 pages. Both decide that there are too many books out there to waste time on a book that doesn't draw them in. I decided to take the characters' advice and turned the book in before finishing.
