the Murder of Lottery Winner Abraham Shakespeare

I've read quite a few true crime stories over the years, but this one is based on a single motive, dollar signs. We're all too familiar with people who win the lottery then get taken in by "friends" or financial advisers with malevolent intentions. This is the story of a down on his luck man who got lucky, helped so many people he barely had anything left, and when he confronted his manager paid the ultimate price. In these days of financial straits, one can understand why we need lotteries as an unwelcome source of revenue to pay for health and education. But often times the consequences are not so obvious at the beginning. I thought this book was entertaining as much as it was chilling, and I read it in one sitting. As for the defendant's claim she was only covering up the murder after the fact, it is too implausible to contemplate for any reasonable person.
