The Bite in the Apple
The Bite in the Apple A Memoir of My Life With Steve Jobs By Brennan, Chrisann Book - 2013

A fascinating and alternative view of Steve Jobs through the eyes of the mother of his first child Lisa. Chrisann Brennan met Steve in high school. Her artistic talent and Steve's quirky personality and intelligence attracted them to each other. They had an on again-off again relationship for years, and sometimes stayed in touch while they dated others. When Chrisann told Steve she was pregnant with his child, he denied paternity and dropped her for good. This happened at the start of his Apple business ventures. Not a flattering picture of Steve Jobs but this is not an angry tell-all. It's intelligent and thoughtful. I found Chrisann to be quite different from her sad portrayal in the recent movie Steve Jobs. She talks about her struggles as a single mom and artist while not discouraging Steve's awkward attempts to be a father to Lisa when Lisa was in elementary school. Chrisann's epilogue when she learns of Steve's death in 2011 touched me. -- Kim B., Ridgedale Library
