I liked this book - but not as much as some of the author's more recent books. Nevertheless, it's clever and features the twists and turns I've come to expect from Ms. Gardner. I suspect that part of reason I was less into it than the others was that I just finished reading Find Her - which seemed very similar in concept at first. By the middle of the book, the story had diverged wildly from the other one but I had twinges of "I just read this" early on. Probably best not to read those two books back to back. I also didn't get particularly attached to any of the characters - maybe because there seems to be a lot of effort made to make Catherine unlikable. This was an interesting choice because you'd usually expect a victim of childhood kidnapping to be a sympathetic character. Personally, I want a character to relate to.
