I started out liking this, but as it went on and on not so much. It didn't hold my attention. I won't go for the next Season. Don't want to say too much so I don't spoil it for others.

Mostly entertaining dark comedy. Farfetched and far-out ruthless assassin.
Then the whole thing crashes with a thud in the last climactic scene when Eve slips off her rocker.

There are definitely other crime drama and drama series from the UK that are better than this one, so I am disappointed by what the fuss was about. It is watchable, but not great.

Had been wondering what all the fuss is about and was especially looking forward to Sandra Oh's work in the wake of her award recognition for this role. Season 1 started off pretty well but ended so badly. I kept watching in the hope that I would begin to like any of the characters. This didn't happen; in fact, the two leads especially rub me the wrong way. There's just nothing to latch on to. It's all so trite. And, there are so many other really great series out there to enjoy. Will be giving Season 2 a miss.

Killing Eve does not live up to the hype. It's a mildly entertaining detective/spy show that attempts to be sophisticated by juxtaposing black humour with offhand, brutal violence. The basis for the story is preposterous; the carnage left behind by the assassin would draw the attention of more than just a minor MI5 operative. The plot lines of each episode are equally unbelievable. So suspend your reality-meter and enjoy the performances by the two leads, the dogged, bloodhound Eve chasing the crazed sociopath Villanelle across exotic locations around the world.

Sad to say that after an interesting beginning Killing Eve deteriorates to the point of being almost laughable. Perhaps an example of a British series lowering its standards to match those from the US. The two adversaries have to be seen to be believed as both seem to have the emotional capacity of juvenile delinquents. Comparing the character of Villanelle to that of Alice in the series Luther would be similar to comparing shit-house poetry to Shakespeare with sad Villanelle as one of those nasty vindictive children whose main source of pleasure is pulling the wings off flies. I suspect that the fixed visage of Eve is not for the consumption of coulrophobics!

Extremely well done and highly recommended. Loved every minute of every episode. Villanelle's theatrical style and ferocious determination reminded me of Lisbeth Salander. Looking forward to season 2.

was seduced by production values and attention to detail as a series of James Bond-style assassinations by a charming young lesbian psychopath erupt in glamorous European capitals (London, Paris, Berlin). interwoven with the spycraft, adult emotional relationships laced with quirky humor. can British intelligence find the female fiend and unmask the maniacs she serves? the first three episodes, mostly exposition, are fresh, flippant, freewheeling. there's good stuff later on, too, but the pace slows and the narrative falters. when they go to the psychopath's homeland, Russia, the show bogs down chasing its own tail. despite great locations, wonderful cast and costumes, this secret-agent fantasia is a sloppy drunk.

a guy wrote the original novellas, and show runner Phoebe Waller-Bridge wrote most of the first season's scripts. was something lost in the translation from page to screen? there's a lot of implied lesbian attraction/repulsion/fixation/curiosity/shame, which is okay until it crowds out every other plot element and is revealed to be a bit of a red herring. there's a fair few murders, point-blank but stylish and sort of feminine, but they don't add up to much, and they devolve into mere gunplay. Sandra Oh's character, Eve, is great until character development is jettisoned in the extended Russian bog. even delicious Jody Comer's psychopath stops growing and simply repeats her evil gamine act ad nauseum. Fiona Shaw as the "M" equivalent is superlative and I'd watch just for her. these ladies are quite entertaining but if you're hoping for insight into geopolitical power games, this dvd will disappoint.

Not terrible but agree with several below that episodes 1-4 were the best. It had some dry humor at odd times. Have never been a big Sandra Oh fan but some of the secondary characters were good--Konstantin, Irina, and especially Carolyn. Will watch season 2 even though this was not all I had heard it was.

Rather silly and pointless.

(Spoiler Alert) Conversation between two women:
I have lost two jobs, a husband and a best friend because of you.
-... So, what are you going to do with that?
I'm gonna kill you.
- No, you're not.
I am.
- You're not.
I am.
- You like me too much. So what now, Eve? I'm gonna tell you something. Sit down. I think about you all the time. I think about what you're wearing and what you're doing and who you're doing it with. I think about what friends you have. I think about what you eat before you work and what shampoo you use and what happened in your family. ... you have for breakfast. I just want to know everything.
I think about you too.
-I mean, I masturbate about you a lot.
Okay, that
- Too much?
No, it's just I wasn't expecting that. So you trash my apartment because you like me so much?
-I I know it's not conventional.
What do you want?
-Honestly. Don't be a dick. Normal stuff. A nice life. Cool flat. Fun job. Someone to watch movies with.
