At the very bottom of websites or in the newspaper in very small lettering reads a warning; Deadly virus in Africa, death toll: 200. Most people ignore it thinking that it’s nothing, but not Leon. Fourteen-year-old Leon has been reading about this virus and he becomes more worried each day, his mother and younger sister keep telling him to not worry. They tell him to focus on his new school in London. But in a few weeks, the virus has hit most of the world and it is coming to London. One weekend Leon and his family go to visit their grandparents and on the subway is someone carrying the deadly virus. Can Leon and his family escape before the virus hits them? This book sounded like a great read, and it was until the end of the book. I will not say what happened but I want to give you a warning that it does describe some violent scenes. However, the book was a good page turner that did share some good messages. If you are looking to read this book I would recommend Plague Land for ages fourteen and older. Rating- 4/5 stars
