Very somber Suchet.
No mystery here.
Just London meets crap hollywood (chastain) drama
one for mentioning Palestine - "I'm traveling from Palestine to London"
hollow-wood hates that
two, lots of cold scenes
A lot of the commenters here are reviewing the wrong movie. This is from the television series where Poirot is portrayed magnificently by David Suchet, and it is FAR BETTER then the 2017 remake. Let's face it, Poirot is not an action hero. Here, in Suchet's hands, he is a mincing little dandy, and the most brilliant detective with no need to brandish a gun. Do yourself a favor. Skip Branagh and watch this version.
Parts were added and characters were left out of this movie. It was awful and the actors were cringe worthy to watch. Terrible movie.
MISTAKE : Even though the box art & description say “2017”, the disc is the 2006 version with David Suchet as Hercule Poirot. (Check IMDb.com) Not a bad version, but not the 2017 Kenneth Branagh directed version.
Beware , this is at the very least, the 5th mislabeled dvd I’ve checked out in the past year.
If you come across a mis-boxed dvd, please be sure to let the library know about the error so that it can be corrected.
This was one of the better movies I've seen this year. Although it differed in small details from the book, I felt that it stayed very true to the spirit of the original story. 10/10 on the cinematography - the bird's eye views were especially stunning. Another part I greatly enjoyed was the musical score. Patrick Doyle has crafted songs that perfectly fit the mood and enhance the movie so subtly, it's hard to notice. The soundtrack by itself is wonderful listening! The most impressive part for me, however, was the fact that Hercule Poirot was played by none other than the director. How's that for multitasking?
The movie was visually amazing! The landscapes were absolutely beautiful! The actors were also perfect in their roles. The problem is that the plot didn't work. In fact, it was pretty bad. There were holes and it was kinda confusing. Plus the ending sucked.
Watch this movie, but don't expect it to be perfect...
If you enjoyed the book, you will definitely enjoy this movie! It is very accurate to Agatha Christie's original mystery novel, and the characters are just as enchanting on the screen as they were in the pages. Loved it!
I used the ask us at the library and this is the link I used to get it
I used copy and paste
Not sure why this says 2017 when this came out in 2010. This is not the new movie with Kenneth Branaugh and Johnny Depp. This is a British TV movie from 2010.
FYI- This is NOT the new movie staring Johnny Depp.
This is a made for TV episode for Agatha Christie's Poirot back in 2010.
The movie that intrduced me to the lovely Jolene.
