A short story collection featuring elements of magic realism while touching on the themes of love, knowledge, grief, hope, and jealousy. Fantastical stories of women who don't conform. Atmospheric, magical, and weird stories with a fairy tale quality. Haunting and beautiful, and sometimes disturbing. Most enjoyable.

Fanciful and unusual stories that are interestingly written and entertaining. Not really a YA book, unlike others she has written, so don’t let that dissuade you if you like fiction somewhat in the vein of Neil Gaiman.
