This is the lamest pop band I know. Not worthy of being in elevators.
It's weird to think that Grizzly Bear's breakout album, Yellow House, came out a bit over a decade ago. The title Painted Ruins itself serves as a pretty good descriptor of their latest sound-- bright and colorful tones overtop something familiar yet a little deconstructed. They lean more towards a folksy, nostalgic feel this time instead of a pop music approach. Worry not, because there are still energetic drums and Ed Droste's impassioned, layered crooning to make this a worthy entry into their discography.
