Rate this:
In eighteenth century France, many people were poor and hungry. They wanted better lives and rulers who would listen to them. King Louis XVI and his wife, Marie Antoinette, were seen as ineffective and wasteful rulers. The lower classes revolted against the monarchy and took control of the country. After thousands of executions, the French revolution ended. Napoleon had taken control of France, but not before the balance of power in all feudal societies had changed forever.
