March 4, 1861. At the inaugural ball, Allan Pinkerton is wary of potential assassins. Lincoln's friend, Joshua Speed, is by his side, along with Speed's nephew, Adam Quinn. When a man is found stabbed to death in a nearby room, Lincoln dispatches Quinn to investigate. Is the crime a political act?
