I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie was! I laughed out loud sitting by myself watching it. Love every character in it.

Very witty movie with an excellent cast. This smart and clever humor is in the capable hands of such stars as Ben Stiller and Mary Tyler Moore. This may be a small film that many of you missed. Take this opportunity to enjoy some clever humor. Thanks for reading the above. As always, leave your reaction to the movie.

Before he became a highly acclaimed (perhaps over-acclaimed), popular filmmaker, David O. Russell ("American Hustle") made a series of eccentric, slightly twisted comedies, starting with his debut, cheekily called "Spanking the Monkey." His second film is his most outright comic, a throwback to classic screwball comedies, but with his darker, quirkier edges. Ben Stiller stars as a man looking for his birth parents. The great cast includes Patricia Arquette, Alan Alda, Josh Brolin, Tea Leoni, Mary Tyler Moore, Richard Jenkins and Lily Tomlin.

One of the most underrated comedies of the last 20 years. Laughs at every turn, culminating in Richard Jenkins' funniest scene. Some may not be able to relate to the unsympathetic characters and find them unlikeable. I don't need to like characters to find humor in our self-absorption and lunacy. It gets better with each viewing due to some some subtle, and not so subtle, irony you missed.

Plenty of great actors and some good laughs in this movie. In search of his birth parents Mel Coplin (Ben Stiller) gets more than he bargained for during the ordeal . There are lots of one liners and outrageous situations typical of a Ben Stiller movie.
