Some will wait a lifetime to take their revenge. . . A vicious robbery at a secluded Brighton mansion leaves its elderly occupant dying. Millions of pounds' worth of valuables have been stolen. But as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, heading the enquiry, rapidly learns, there is one priceless item of sentimental value that her powerful family cherish above all else. And they are fully prepared to take the law into their own hands, and will do anything - absolutely anything - to get it back. Within days, Grace is racing against the clock, following a murderous trail that leads him from the shady antiques world of Brighton, across Europe, and all the way back to the New York waterfront gang struggles of 1922, chasing a killer driven by the force of one man's greed and another man's fury. Dead Man's Time is the ninth novel in the multi-million copy bestselling Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series, from the number one chart topper, Peter James.

Another very good read, an interesting plot with a reasonably exciting ending with a final little twist in the very last chapter.
As usual Roy Grace leads the way with all the familiar characters. An entertaining and engaging novel and onto the next book in the series.

My first encounter with Peter James but certainly not my last. Surprising that BBC has not turned the Roy Grace character into a series.

This is #9 in the Roy Grace series. Author Peter James never fails to satisfy. He does not seem to be getting stale nor do his stories. I would suggest that you read the stories in order as DS Grace is not a stagnant character. He is growing and aging and changing. Join the fun and follow his escapades.

There are two outstanding crime writers in Britain today - one is Graham Hurley and the other is Peter James.
Their story lines are both current, and both have very believable characters that all have fascinating relationships of their own that add hugely to the success of each novel.
Together they are the equal of the great Michael Connolly - highly recommended reading.
