Very good. Looking for a photographer who has been declared killed by a bear, Celine and her partner uncover a complex plot . Good writing, rather unlikely story. I particularly liked that the detectives are an older (as in retired) couple.

Celine is a PI who specializes in uniting families and agrees to help Gabriela who has never felt closure about her father’s—a renowned 'National Geographic' photographer—death from a supposed grizzly attack. Celine is also missing a person of her own, which adds poignancy to this missing person mystery.

I loved this book. It takes the usual PI mystery up a notch. Maybe it helped that I’m the age of Celine and felt her a kindred spirit. If you’re looking for the tightly plotted PI novel, this one might have too many ruminations and backstories, but if you like good family stories and settings out West I’d recommend this to anyone.
