Alek and Deryn are on the last leg of their round-the-world quest to end World War I and reclaim Alek's throne as prince of Austria. Their objectives, however, are complicated by the fact that their ship, the Leviathan, continues to detour farther away from the heart of the war.

I am really sorry to see this trilogy end! It's an excellent steampunk series--anyone, teen to adult, would certainly enjoy these dystopian works. I listened to these on cd--I must say that the narrator was excellent. So many of the characters are unforgettable, from Dylan/Darren Sharpe, Prince Alec, the Wild Count, the Lady Boffin and the Persificatious Loris. Actually, the other reviewer of this title had some excellent comments which I won't repeat here. Unforgettable.

A solid finale to the at once richly imagined-yet-thoroughly-researched "Leviathan" trilology. Having experienced all three as audiobooks I believe that Alan Cumming's marvellous narration was a key element in my enjoyment of the characters and the storyline- his eccentric rendition of Nicola Tesla, in particular, was spot on for the purposes of this story. Well done to author and narrator both, I hope there will be future collaborations!
