Not to be missed!
Jim Dale creates a superb narration for this magnificent series.
The Order of the Phoenix is the fifth in this seven-part saga,
the first British fantasy novel ever to compare with Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.
This series has single-handedly restored the value of reading
to an entire generation of young people,
for which the author has been quite properly awarded both
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire
and The Order of the Companions of Honour.
And speaking of things British,
the UK audiobook is read by Stephen Fry
and is equally as engaging and entertaining as Jim Dale’s version.
Highly recommended.

We love the Harry Potter audio books. I'd almost rather listen to the audiobooks than read the books since Jim Dale does all the voices so perfectly and in the correct accents :).

If you can JUST get through the first half of this large book the “last half is worth it”! The ending was exciting, as usual, but about 2/3 into the book Fred and George steal the show with some really funny pranks that I can’t wait for my daughter to read!

Warning - the first half just might make you grumpy! I want to call Harry a “flawed” hero in this book cause of his constant lack of anger control or ... is he just being a typical teenager? In this book there’s a lot of arguing and SHOUTING at his friends and even professors! Harry has at times VERY good reasons to be grumpy or mad but it’s rather unpleasant to read. I thought Voldemort would be more to blame about this but not really... Also, his clueless attempts at talking to or understanding Cho were laughable but I’m sure quite common behavior for a typical boy!

I would have to say that I wish there could have been more edited out of the 1st half to make this book shorter.

Still this is a very superior child/YA book and worthwhile series to read! Look forward to seeing the movie now then eventually reading the next.

Not the best book but it is still good

Although I've read all the books, this sound recording was a new and different experience! I loved it so much!

Agreed. Jim Dale is truly an incredible narrator! He really brings the characters to life. This series is well served by the audiobook medium.
