Although apocalypses in YA have been done over and over, I really enjoyed this new take on a common trope. Crazy televangelist predicts "Rapture" event, people disappear...is it all an elaborate hoax?

Personally, I thought the second book was much better (Vivian Apple Needs a Miracle). I read the second book first, and the idea of an organization (Church of America) abusing religious beliefs for its own financial and commercial prosperity was very unique and intriguing. If you read the second book first, it will keep you guessing about what happens along the way, and covers many of the things described in the first book. I love the characters Viv and Harp since I think they're so different and relatable, complementing each other very well. Love the author's style. Definitely recommend no matter what religion you do (or don't) believe in.

This book had a slow start but it picked up the pace and added in a interesting twist or two that made me glad I read the whole book!
