I have many zentangle books and I've read probably over a hundred. I wish the library had a larger zentangle book collection, but they don't. This book was written by one of my least favorite Certified Zentangle Teachers, Beckah Krahula. I find her books very monotonous and boring. They're also a bit arrogant about the whole copyrighting your tangles and zentangles which I think is silly. These doodles existed long before any CZT stuck their copyright on it. In this book she includes about a hundred of her own zentangles and another 400 that belong to others. Most are small square zentangles made on the traditional 3.5" zentangle square. They're not of anything, just lines, so they're kind of boring. Scattered throughout the book are other zentangles that are in the shapes of mermaids, animals, flowers, and other objects. Those are mostly cute. There are several of these that are not zentangles. There are no tangles in the pictures. There are also several that are so small you can't make out the tangles. For example there's a koi pond on page 50 that's reduced to 3.5" x 4" so you have to look really hard to even recognize what it is. Rather than filling the book with 450 plain squares and 50 beautiful zentangles reduced to thumbnails, she should've devoted the book to the 50 beautiful zentangles blown up full size. Now that would've been a beautiful book. As is, this one is really disappointing. I didn't learn any new tangles and none of the actual zentangles that were included were large enough to truly enjoy.
