Stunning poetry- re-read many times and always a new revelation! The art is beautiful. In fact, the cover art is what attracted me to the book.

A wonderful collection of poems for the cold to read while snuggled up and enjoying a warm beverage! Learn a few fascinating details about what trees and animals do in the winter.

One of my favorite poems in this collection is "Big Brown Moose", which has a fun rhyme scheme and works well as a transition between stories and songs in storytime. I also love "Chickadee's Song", which describes the tiny bird's song as laughing at the winter weather. This poetry collection also does a great job of explaining the science of winter, with a short factual paragraph on each page and a detailed glossary at the back!

Lyrical poems and informative text describe how plants and animals survive in the bitter cold of winter.
