In Brain Rules, Dr. John Medina, a molecular biologist, shares his lifelong interest in how the brain sciences might influence the way we teach our children and the way we work. In each chapter, he describes a brain rule--what scientists know for sure about how our brains work--and then offers transformative ideas for our daily lives.

This book is right up my alley. John makes the science accessible and applicable. It makes sense to me how sleep and exercise improve brain function. I understand why business and education models need to be challenged in favor of more brain friendly approaches and environments. I have some more practical ways I can enhance memory and recall in my toolbox. I have a better grasp on how hormones and gender influence our brain development and processes.

My favorite part of this book, is the precise recommendations for presenting to an audience in a way that maximizes their attention, retention and understanding of the material. I am going to get my hands on a hard copy of this book, photocopy/scan that section and apply it to every presentation I give here on out. If nothing else, look up that section of this book!
