Eva lives in the ghetto, has an abusive mother, and is addicted to heroin. After several traumatizing incidents, she goes to live with her cousin Fiyah in Harlem. Making progress, Eva thinks the worst days are behind her. But she is wrong: her cousin makes a deal with a drug lord, trading Eva for a recording contract. Eva finds herself to be a pawn in a game of cat and mouse, torn between the man she loves--a rapper who her cousin hates--and the violent kingpin she is promised to.
