My parents were in WWII, so I knew about the rationing, but seeing it in action like is shown in this book was eye opening! It was amazing to see how people adapted and to realize how lost we would be today in the same circumstances.

What a great and inventive way to tell a heartwarming story of friendship, loss, and love.
I loved this book; it gave insight to the homefront during WW II. Very poignant.
This story of two women that start as pen pals during WWII and become friends. I was leery at first, as the story is told in letters between the two women, with a few others here & there. However, it was done wonderfully and I couldn't put it down! Keep a box of tissues handy . . .
