Book - 2012 | Chinese
Rate this:
Wang Er, a fictional character, is a jack of all trades: a tenant farmer who, in an attempt to change his life around, moves to the city and becomes a white-collar employee, and eventually a young business proprietor. He buys train tickets, and sells grain; he buys land, and builds houses; he can also decorate interiors, act as a financial advisor and start businesses. Both an ordinary Chinese worker and an extraordinarily accomplished man, Wang Er is a character used by the author to represent the wide gamut of issues that plague the Chinese economy.
