* Like its TV counterpart (also written by Aaronovitch), this book connects Dr. Who's past and future. I'd recommend it to any Dr. Who fan.

* The characters are well developed. Aaronovitch throws in lots of extra tidbits of background information--especially about Ace, Rachel, & Gilmore.

* Aaronovitch plays around with point of view. Some sections of the book are narrated from individual Daleks' perspectives. I found this a fresh, interesting way of portraying a traditional villain.

* Overall, it's an exciting, imaginative, thought-provoking sci fi adventure.
