If the opening prologue doesn`t get you chuckling (in Vaudeville they really DID have giant crooks to pull you off-stage - ON STAGE AT THE APOLLO didn`t invent it), if the mini-gnomes in the oversized red caps (and no brain/mouth filter whatsoever) versus the porcelain bunnies painted blue like ancient Celtic warriors doesn`t start you whooping, if the pudgy gnome in the thong suit (who dance-teams up at the finale with Dolly Gnome) skipping down the garden path singing "I`ve Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts" in Italian doesn`t set you laughing, then, my friend, YOU`RE TRYING TOO HARD TO BE SOPHISTICATELY PRETENSIOUS (and succeeding , sadly, oh too well.) Oh - and renheart115? Shakespeare`s `Romeo and Juliet is a PLAY, DUMBBELL, NOT A NOVEL! (shows us who thinks she gonna fake it through English 101 - oh, you DO know the opening prologue is from Shakespeare`s `The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet`, don`t you? Or are you still working on (gag me with a spoon!) the Sonnet Novels?)

Gnomeo and Juliet is a creative, entertaining, and interesting spin on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. I definitely prefer this version, and think that Disney did a great job at telling the story, and incorporating humour, adventure, and suspense. The characters are all very likeable, and the storyline is so imaginative. I commend Disney’s creativity, and liked how they kept the morals of the traditional version, while also making it more entertaining and light-hearted. It is a great way for younger audiences to appreciate the story as well. I would definitely recommend this movie to other viewers! It is so much fun to watch, and is enjoyable for people of varying ages! Rating 4.5/5

This is an amazing movie! Gnomeo and Juliet is the first movie in the 2 part series. It is based around the lives of two garden gnomes Gnomeo and Juliet, who have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. But with plastic pink flamingos and lawnmower races in the mix, can this young couple find lasting happiness? Separated by a garden fence and a feud, are blue gnomes on one side and red gnomes on the other. This doesn't stop blue Gnomeo and red Juliet from falling in love with each other. Do they have a future together? My favourite part of the movie would have to be when they first meet each other, it was amazing. I would recommend this movie to people of all ages because it is a family friendly movie and a great movie to watch on family movie night. Overall, this is a fantastic movie! 5/5

Surely everyone has, at some point, read the Shakespearean tale of Romeo and Juliet, or at least heard of it. Well, replace the two with a couple of garden gnomes and you have Gnomeo and Juliet. Just like in the original story, there are two neighbouring families, the Montagues and Capulets, which are rivals. They compete to see who has the better garden. When the blue gnomes destroy the red gnomes’ prized plant, the red gnomes attempt to do the same and chaos ensues when Gnomeo and Tybalt fight and Tybalt ends up dying in a lawnmower crash. What will happen to Gnomeo and Juliet as they find themselves in the middle of a fierce feud?

In this sweet and funny remake of Shakespeare's original play Romeo and Juliet, Gnomeo and his blue gnomes and Juliet and her red gnomes are having some extreme rivalry. The blue gnomes live in Mrs.Montague's garden and the red gnomes live in the garden of Mr.Capulet. While both owners are asleep the gnomes come to life and race against each other using lawnmowers. One day Gnomeo is caught sneaking into the Capulet's garden, he escapes to the abandoned yard. Gnomeo meets Juliet in the yard and they both fall in love. Juliet's father glues Juliet to a pedestal to ensure that she doesn't escape to meet Gnomeo. While Juliet is stuck to the pedestal a lawnmower on a rampage heads towards the helpless Juliet.
Will Gnomeo be able to save her? Or will this be the ill fate of this pair of lovers?

this movie is HILARIOUS!!! i absolutely fell in love the very first time i saw this and watched it about twice a day until i got yelled at to turn it off! jokes, and romance? the perfect combination! and the fact that it's gnomes and that they're always throwing in jokes from Bill Shakespeare's other plays just makes it roll around on the floor GREAT!!

Tina R. Cooper says: "Loved it for the whole family"! Better than the actual movie. Great ending and all!

This is a good family movie. I don't have to explain anything sexual or gory to my small children (even many Disney movies force me to do that). It still has a plot (and subplots) that interest and amuse the mature mind.

I'm surprised at how good this movie is. This is a fun take on Shakespeare's classic. James McAvoy and Emily Blunt are great as the leads. While there are some suggestive jokes throughout the movie, it's still an enjoyable family film. Recommended.

Juliet: "Oh, Gnomeo, Gnomeo, are we really doomed to never see each other again? Why must you wear a blue hat? Why couldn't it be red like my father, or green like... like a leprechaun... or purple like, ummm, like some weird guy - I mean what's in a gnome? Because you are blue, my father sees red, and because I am red, I am feeling blue."

Fawn mockingly. "Why would anyone do this to Tybalt?"
Little Gnomes: Because nobody likes him.

Fawn: Okay, lets play a game. I'm thinking of a movie. One word, first part is Spider.
Little Gnomes: Is it Spider-Man?
Fawn: Wow you're good. I'm thinking of another, two words, first word is Spider-man.
Gnomes: Spider-Man 2?
Fawn: Okay, who's cheating?
