And...this is where Murray Gold ran out of ideas. The soundtrack for the first two seasons (which sadly the Hennepin County system doesn't have) is beautiful. Seasons 2-4 and the David Tennant specials continue to be creative and a pleasure to the ears. Characters and events in the first few seasons have recognizable themes - the Doctor, each companion, the Cybermen, the Daleks, Doomsday, Westminster Bridge, and so on.
Once you get to season 5, however, all the music sounds the same. There is either the 'Exciting, Something Intense Is Happening' music or the 'And This Is The Rest Of The Time' music. I honestly had to check to see if it was still the same composer or if Murray Gold had left along with Russell T. Davies.
Murray Gold did brilliant work in the early seasons. Unless you have some specific reason for wanting something season 5 or later, I'd recommend finding one of the earlier soundtracks.
