I like this rhyming version of Goldilocks with Spanish vocabulary scattered throughout. The familiarity of the story helps non-Spanish speakers learn the meanings of the new words and the glossary and pronunciation guide in the back are very helpful. I also enjoyed the ending; instead of Rubia just running off after ruining the house, she visits them again and tries her best to make amends.

Unfortunately, this book reinforces body image issues for girls. The Mama Oso wants to go for a walk to get "thinner"- an idea I am trying to avoid teaching to my four year old daughter. I wish the author would have worded it as "let's move our bodies to be strong or because it feels good" rather than making it about the mom trying to lose weight.
