One of my favorite quotes--which I got tattooed on myself--comes from the novel: "The world is vast and meant for wandering."

The main character is gay. This has no real relevance to the plot, although, the main character, Dade, thinks that why he has so many problems. Basically, Dade is sleeping with Pablo, a bisexual, struggling to come of the closet. Not only are the names of these characters an indicator of a terrible book but Dade is a jerk. These a minor character having real life, suicidal, issues and Dade is sitting with the most homophobic guys in his school, yet all the heterosexuals bully him. Daily. And when the story couldn’t get any worst, it did. Enter Alex coincidentally hot and gay. College drop out and sells weed to high schoolers. All in all the book needs to rethink its placement in the LGTB plus. - @LittleMissRedHead of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

Moving and entertaining. This is a coming (out) of age novel that covers one summer in the life of a just-graduated Midwest boy before he takes off for college. The plot unfolds chronologically and is scene driven (e.g. the gay bar scene, the graveyard scene) making it an easy read. Although classified as a "young adult" novel, it has insights, humor and heartbreak that will touch all ages.

A light and easy read that is highly addictive. I could not put the book down and read it under 3 days. Dade hamiliton is highly relatable and funny character that you sympathize and empathize with throughout the whole story; like hes telling a story to you while your in reading the story through his eyes/perspective. The book was a very fun read about 'life' and not fantasy fictions. It was a great alternative and exciting. I highly reccomend this to anyone who wants a fun, emotional, and addictive roller coaster journey of fiction about life and struggles.

No doubt, this book is simply excellent. Those who grew up on the North Shore will be able to relate to much of the suburbia theme (finding the extraordinary in the ordinary) that permeates the book. And for once, I felt like this book was long enough. Most books are too short, don't flesh out the characters and interactions enough. At the same time, it was never boring. The only complaint I have is the ending. What a let down. The author should have omitted the last paragraph completely, rather than trying to preach a cliché to us, he should have just let the book show us that life is many shades of gray, not black and white.

I absolutely love this book! When I first read it, I absolutely fell in love with the characters and their stories. Both my friend and I have read it several times now, and it never gets old!

This book is amazing! It's honest and touching and has shot to number two on my top five list of books. The characters are dynamic, the situations are real and the writing is beautiful. I read it once a month, I just can't get enough! Can't wait for his next book!

A totally epic book. I just didn't like the ending... But other than that... It's great!

This book was amazing to read. After the first few pages I was pulled in to the story and the characters. This book really opened new windows for me and I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a joyful, realistic, and beautiful novel of change and enlightenment.
