I really like the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the book is very good in the way that books made into movies are good - there is much more in the story of the novel than is included in the musical. In particular I like how the characters of Joseph Buquet and Madame Giry are in the book, as they are very minor characters in the play. Between reading and listening to the audio, I finished this book very quickly, in about three days compared to a week or more that full size novels usually take me. The Blackstone audiobook is really good! I only wish the parts where there is singing, and where the actual text of the book shows that there are snatches of lyrics, were sung or spoken in a poetic kind of affectation. The parts of the songs and etc get kind of mixed up in the dialogue and narration.
