As the wildly successful darling of the publishing industry, chick lit mystery writer Kimberlee Kalder is the guest of honor at an exclusive writers' conference at Dalmorton Castle in Scotland. But jealousy and resentment are soon replaced with shock when she is found dead at the bottom of the castle's bottle dungeon. So I like a cozy-ish mystery--my tolerance for them is high and so I enjoyed this. The ending was preposterous and like the first in the series, the book is pretty sexist. Neither of those things was enough for me not to read the next one. It scratches the "British mystery" itch well enough.

Another good mystery by G.M. Malliet. Like the first book in this series the plot was very interesting and the characters were very well written. The ending was extremely surprising. I did not think that the murderer was the person it turned out to be. I also liked the relationship between St. Just and Portia, it showed a softer side of him.
