Quality guitar work, like one would expect from George Harrison.

Somehow not real exciting, yet given time to play it and learn it. It
would grow on you.

This is a good soft rock-ish album.

this one was George's comeback lp. the critics had savaged him in the 70s and 80s, and so he lost interest in recording. GONE TROPPO was a weak album, so the strength of this rebound was refreshing. it was produced by Jeff Lynne, of ELO fame, and a few of the songs sound elo-ish, at least, a little. strongest track here is DEVIL'S RADIO, and I want to shout that from the highest mountains! WRECK OF THE HESPERUS is a rocker, also, and speaks to his critics in no uncertain terms. there are some slower, more emotional songs here, also. dare I say poignant. the album was recorded not long after the film George produced with Sean Penn and Madonna was released (SHANGHAI SURPRISE), so a couple of songs he wrote for the soundtrack made it onto the album. ORION films went out of business. so did HANDMADE, George's film company. George's first #1 song in decades, GOT MY MIND SET ON YOU is here, also, complete with drum machine track (ye-e-c-h). there is no filler on this album.
