Join Ridgedale Library in celebration of Earth Day at the Earth Day Fair!
The Earth Day Fair will focus on environmental issues and climate change causes, impacts, and possible solutions. County officials, library leadership, community partners, multiple city and county departments, students, teachers, and volunteers will provide resources, demonstrations, activities, and conversations to help us learn about the environment and climate change at the multi-station Earth Day Fair.
Stop into the Earth Day Fair to hear District 6 Commissioner Heather Edelson and HCL Director Scott Duimstra introduce the fair and after they will be available to talk and answer questions. Take part in a special opening ceremony with author and artist Marique Moss. She will honor land and water with prayer, teachings on our relationship with plants, plants significance in cultural medicine practice, and the importance of water to life.
At the Earth Day Fair, be creative crafting musical instruments from reused items. Enjoy an Earth Day Family Storytime. Attend a plant-medicine workshop to make a medicine pouch. Also, take part in a conversation about climate change to win a recycled book, make a seed ball, plant seedlings, participate in a community art project, and meet organizations and individuals working on solutions to environmental problems.
This program is part of Ridgedale Library’s “Striving for Resilience" climate series. Explore Ridgedale Library’s ongoing climate change display with materials for all ages and family activity table. Check out our online book lists to learn more.
