Intermediate Sewing Machine Skills: Sewing Soft Shapes

12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Minneapolis Central

Description

For adults 18 and up. Use a template or design your own soft shape! With this binding-free technique, you’ll learn about clipping and notching curved and pointed seams so you can sew any shape you like. This technique can be used for a variety of projects - from potholders to coasters to baby toys! Materials provided. Collaborator: Textile Center.  This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

This is an intermediate level class; participants should have some basic experience using a sewing machine. Class is limited to 8 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrive a few minutes early to sign up for a spot. RKMC Room is located on the skyway level of the library. Access via the escalator or elevator from the library atrium.

The class will run concurrently with the Minneapolis Craft Club program across the hall, so people could participate in Craft Club and work on a different crafting project if the sewing class is full.
