Kashimana Ahua Artist Residency: Song Creation and Composition for Everyone

Description

McKnight Composer Fellow and COMPAS Teaching Artist Kashimana Ahua will lead a 3-part series on music creation and guide participants in developing their own songs and ideas with voice, pen, and paper. Equipment such as song looping technology may be demonstrated and available for participants to try. Open to all skill levels. Collaborator: COMPAS. This program is funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Participants can attend single or multiple sessions in the 3-part series.

Kashimana Ahua holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition-Songwriting, a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences and an Associate's Degree in Music Production. Kashimana performs as a solo, a duo and with their band exploring sounds of Soul, Folk and Afro-funk. Kashimana envisions a strong community of writers ready to share their stories through songwriting.
