Have you taken our introductory Narrative Healing writing workshop and are ready for more? Join us for an advanced Narrative Writing series with The Loft. Registering will enroll you in the series of four classes.
1. Narrative Healing: An Introduction - This session is an introduction to Narrative Healing, Mindfulness Breathing, and features three distinct introductory Narrative Healing writing activities. We will explore what Narrative Healing
means and how writing can be a catharsis. We will delve into how we might heal through conflict, and take time to look at instructive media, share in mindfulness activities, and practice writing exercises.
2. Narrative Healing: Looking Inward - Revisit the introduction to Narrative Healing and practice additional Mindfulness Breathing activities and explore intrinsic motivations to heal and seek healing. We will take time to reflect on our own feelings and needs through drafting and writing activities. Drawing on our Mindfulness Breathing exercises, we will explore Body Work in our personal practice as well.
3. Narrative Healing: Healing Within Our Communities - Take a deep dive into extrinsic motivations to heal and seek healing. This is an opportunity to explore additional healing spaces and learn about specific affinity groups.
Through writing, we will spend time reflecting on the importance of community engagement, the need for community healing, and the value of healing as a community.
4. Narrative Healing: Reflecting - The final session will give a holistic view of Narrative Healing and take a deep dive into previous writing activities and expand on our written work. Attendees will participate in a carefully facilitated space for share-outs of written work, to heal in partnership and fellowship with peers.
