Events › Film Festival: Indigenous Peoples Day

In celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day, join us for a series of movies featuring Native filmmakers.   

Schedule: 

2 p.m.  Sisters Rising
The story of six Native American women fighting to restore personal and tribal sovereignty in the face of ongoing sexual violence against Indigenous women in the United States.

3 p.m.  Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World 
Brings to light the profound and overlooked influence of Indigenous people on popular music in North America.

4:30 - 5:30 p.m.  Reception with filmmakers, refreshments by Native Food Perspectives 

5:30 p.m.  Short films presented by filmmaker Elizabeth Day (Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe)

6:30 p.m.  The Coyote Way: Going Back Home presented by filmmaker Missy Whiteman (Northern Arapaho and Kickapoo) 
Sci-fi docu-narrative film about a young boy who must make a life changing decision to join a Native street gang or begin an epic pilgrimage that will reveal the truth of his existence.
