Most of our popular recreational trails were once railroad lines. Two lines in particular ran through the center of Hennepin County. Abandoned now for almost 90 years and overrun or reworked by development and population growth, traces of these long-forgotten rail and streetcar lines are still visible in unlikely and surprising places.
