Plymouth READS: Build a Kite

Description

Grades 3-8 with a caregiver. Build a Hornbeam Mark-1 Sled Kite with Dave Herzig, "The Kite Man." Choose patterns, colors, and tails, then take your kite for a test flight. Materials provided. Sponsors: Friends of the Plymouth Library, City of Plymouth, Plymouth Arts Council.

Note: Each child registered will get to make one kite, or make one together as a family.

Plymouth READS: Stories and Songs With Elisa Korenne
Tuesday, March 31, 7-8 p.m.
Elisa Korenne writes songs about oddballs in history. When those songs led her to move from New York City to rural Minnesota, she became the oddball, detailed in her fish-out-of-water memoir, "Hundred Miles to Nowhere." Sharing her songs, the stories behind them, and her own humbling journey as a newcomer, Korenne will explain how differences can create connection. Books and CDs will be available for purchase and signing.

In the 2020 Plymouth READS book selection "Virgil Wander" by Leif Enger, the run-down movie house is reborn to host community showings of classic cinema such as "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." Join us for a viewing of this 1969 film starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman.
