Spark Youth: Aquaponics – Sustainable Farming

Entering grades 6-9. It's a garden and aquarium all in one! Aquaponics combines aquaculture (raising fish and sea life) with hydroponics (growing plants in water). Fit pipes and plumbing together to design an aquaponics system. Learn how fish and plants can work together in a sustainable food system, using the water and nutrients that cycle between them. Materials provided. Sponsor: Friends of the Hennepin County Library. Collaborator: Spark-Y Youth Action Labs.
